About the Newsletter

Between the Flood and the Rainbow ceased publication five years ago. It is now being resumed by the Ecumenical Eco-Justice Network, a not-for-profit organization. The Network’s purpose is to provide educational information on environmental and ecological issues from a Christian faith perspective and to offer opportunities for leadership development in creation ministries. This web site seeks to provide resources to enable congregations, small groups, and individuals to become knowledgeable on a variety of environmental issues and encourage them to action for taking care of the Earth and all of God’s creation. The Network is based on the conviction that care of creation is a spiritual issue and the environmental crisis is a challenge to Christian faithfulness.

The Network intends to publish four issues a year, focussing on specific topics such as energy, water, toxics and health, sustainability and so on. In light of the recent UN conference on climate change and recognizing the urgency and the critical nature of the issue, the focus is on climate change. Mr. Jaydee Hanson and I attended the UN meeting COP7 in Marrakech, Morocco last November, and share firsthand information about it.

We look forward with anticipation that denominations and the ecumenical community will order bulk copies of this newsletter for distribution through their own channels of communication. We invite your suggestions for making it user-friendly.

Best wishes for a joyous New Year!
