The Ecumenical Eco-Justice Network stands for ecology and justice—the well-being of all humankind on a thriving
Earth.
Coming from a cluster of denominations, its constituents are convinced that caring for creation is a spiritual
issue and that the environmental crisis is a challenge to Christian faithfulness.
We believe that the health of human society and the natural environment depends upon basic values of caring for
all of God's creation, justice, and community. Such values translate into policy and practice to build a better
future with sustainability, participation, sufficiency and solidarity.
The Ecumenical Eco-Justice Network is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization incorporated in the State of Illinois.
We sponsor local and regional meetings and conferences for education and action on topics such as global warming
and climate change, energy issues, consumption and life style issues, sustainability, and others.
We produce pertinent educational resources on environmental and ecological issues for use by individuals, small
groups, congregations, and other church bodies.
We publish a quarterly newsletter, Between the Flood and the Rainbow, with focus on specific environmental topics.
We participate actively in conferences organized by international ecumenical bodies, and both governmental and
non-governmental organizations.
We monitor closely the global climate change issue by attending the Conference of Parties held under the United
Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
We provide stipends and scholarship assistance for leadership development in caring for creation witness and ministries.
The effectiveness of our work depends on the active interest and participation of people of faith who care for
the Earth and all of God's creation. We welcome donations and in-kind volunteer services.
